Flights to Phuket Take You to Province of Amazing Places
Phuket is the second smallest province of Thailand and
comprises the main island and other smaller islands located off the coast.
There are many things you can do while in this popular Thai tourist
destination. It is abundant in natural beauty and is home to some fantastic
cultural attractions. You can also use the island of Phuket as a base for
getting to some of the enchanting islands nearby. The island of Phuket is
connected to the Phang Nga Province by the Sarasin Bridge. Krabi is its nearest
province.
The gateway to this province of Thailand is the Phuket
International Airport. Upon arriving in any of the flights
to Phuket, you can get to the place where your accommodation has been
arranged by taking any of the reliable transport modes. During your stay in
this part of Thailand, you'll get the chance to explore some of its renowned
places. One of them is the Phang Nga Bay, which can be explored with the help
of a day trip from Phuket Island. A visit to this bay would allow you to
witness James Bond Island and Koh Panyee Island. While cruising around in the
Phang Nga Bay, you'll also get to explore some magnificent limestone cliffs.
During your time spent in the Phuket province, you can
also visit the Phi Phi Islands. Over the years, the island has become a
favourite among many tourists and has also become a reason for some to make a
trip to Phuket. You'll find these islands mesmerising with all their towering
cliffs, beaches set against the backdrop of a jungle, and a serene atmosphere
that instantly delights the senses. Of these islands, Phi Phi Don has been home
to a population of fishermen who arrived on the island in the mid-20th century.
Phi Phi Leh rose to prominence when its beach was used as a location for the
film, 'The Beach'.
While you’re in Phuket, don’t forget to visit the Big
Buddha. This 45-metre statue is one of the prominent landmarks on the island of
Phuket and can be seen from distant places, such as Karon Beach and Phuket
Town. Constructed on top of the Nakkerd Hills, the statue is known among the
locals as Phra Puttamingmongkol Akenakkiri Buddha and was built in 2004. The
body of the Big Buddha has been constructed using reinforced concrete and
layered with Burmese white jade marble. You'll also find a smaller statue of
Buddha next to this magnificent statue, which is made of brass.
You'll also have some exciting shopping opportunities
while getting around in the local markets. They give you good bargains and are
the right places to get attractive souvenirs and gifts. It would be a great
idea to do all the shopping at night without having to wander under the hot sun
during the day. The night markets open after the heat of the day has waned. You
can also watch some brilliant performances given by the street musicians while
at these markets. They create a festive feel to the surroundings and make your
shopping experience even more memorable.
