Located about 80 kilometres south-east of the city is a picturesque region called Dalyan. It is home to the popular golden beach of Iztuzu, the sea turtles, and a healthy mud bath, which is enjoyed by many tourists every year. This region can be explored with the help of boat trips taken from the city. During your trip, you'll also get the chance to witness the ancient city of Kaunos. It was founded by the son of Miletos, known as Kaunos, during the 10th century BC. Kaunos was known far and wide for its commerce and production of salt in ancient times. You can see the remains of this intriguing archaeological site during your boat trip to Dalyan.
